FlowPayOps
Hands-on support for the work behind payments
I'm building FlowPayOps to explore how businesses can get hands-on support for recurring payments work. The idea is to combine payments expertise with a business process outsourcing (BPO) model, so teams can get help running day-to-day workflows as well as improving them.
The problem
Payments work doesn't stop when the product ships.
Teams can spend hours matching payouts, tracking down exceptions, gathering dispute evidence, and chasing handoffs across systems. The work is recurring, it's detail-heavy, and it usually lands on someone who also has another job.
What a BPO model means here
Business process outsourcing simply means bringing in an outside team to run a piece of repeatable work on an ongoing basis, under your process and your standards. Not a project that ends with a deck. A team that shows up for the Tuesday reconciliation and gets faster at it every week.
A short example
When a payout doesn't match what a team expected, someone has to compare the processor report with internal records, document the difference, and route the issue to the right owner. That's the kind of recurring workflow FlowPayOps is exploring.
Workflows we're exploring
The recurring work, named plainly.
These are areas of exploration as the venture develops, not a fixed service catalog.
Settlement and payout reconciliation
Matching what a processor says you earned against what actually landed in the bank, and explaining every gap.
Payment exception queues
Working the daily list of transactions that didn't behave: missing, duplicated, declined, or stuck in review.
Dispute evidence preparation and tracking
Assembling the evidence a dispute needs, on time, and keeping track of what is still open.
Processor reporting
Turning monthly statements and portal exports into figures a finance or operations team can actually use.
Operating playbooks
Writing down the steps, owners, and escalation paths so the work doesn't live in one person's head.
Who I'd like to hear from
Merchants, fintechs, and finance or operations teams.
Especially if you manage recurring payments work and want to compare notes on where you get stuck. I'm interested in the unglamorous parts: what breaks, who fixes it, and how long it takes.
How to start a conversation
Describe one recurring workflow, what makes it difficult, and where you need help. That's enough for a first conversation, and there's no pitch waiting at the end of it.
